1. Data protection at a glance
The following notes provide a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data that can be used to identify you personally. Detailed information on data protection can be found in this privacy policy.
Who is responsible for data collection on this website?
Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator, whose contact details can be found in the "Responsible party" section below.
How do we collect your data?
Your data is collected partly when you provide it to us — for example, data you enter when contacting us or booking a session. Other data is collected automatically or with your consent when you visit the website, mainly technical data such as your browser, operating system, or the time of page access.
What do we use your data for?
Part of the data is collected to ensure the website functions correctly. Other data may be used to understand how visitors use the site. Where the website is used to initiate or conclude a service relationship, the data provided is also processed for that purpose.
What rights do you have?
You have the right at any time to receive information about the origin, recipient, and purpose of your stored personal data, free of charge. You also have the right to request correction or deletion of this data. If you have given consent to data processing, you can withdraw it at any time. You also have the right, under certain circumstances, to request restriction of processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
2. Responsible party
The party responsible for data processing on this website is:
Peter Szekely
Aurbacherstraße 4, 81541, München, Germany
Email: hello@regrounded.me
The responsible party is the natural or legal person who decides, alone or jointly with others, on the purposes and means of processing personal data.
3. Hosting (Squarespace)
This website is hosted by Squarespace Ireland Ltd., Le Pole House, Ship Street Great, Dublin 8, Ireland, with data potentially transferred to its parent company Squarespace Inc., 8 Clarkson St, New York, NY 10014, USA.
When you visit the site, your data is processed on Squarespace's servers. Squarespace stores cookies that are technically necessary for displaying the page and ensuring security. Processing is based on our legitimate interest in a reliable presentation of our website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), and where consent is requested, on that consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and paragraph 25(1) TDDDG). Data transfer to the USA is based on the EU Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, and Squarespace is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
4. Booking and scheduling (Calendly)
To schedule calls and sessions, we use Calendly, provided by Calendly LLC, 271 17th Street NW, Suite 1000, Atlanta, GA 30363, USA.
When you click a booking link on our website, you are directed to Calendly's own hosted page. No Calendly content is embedded on or loaded by our website directly. Any data you enter during booking — such as your name, email address, and scheduling details — is collected and processed by Calendly on their platform, for the purpose of scheduling and confirming appointments. The legal basis is the performance of, or steps toward, a service relationship (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Calendly's servers are located in the USA; transfers are governed by Calendly's data processing terms, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and Standard Contractual Clauses. For details, see calendly.com/privacy.
5. Video calls (Google Meet)
Sessions and calls may be conducted via Google Meet, provided by Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
When you join a call, connection data and any information you share during the session is processed to enable the video call. Processing is based on the performance of, or steps toward, a service relationship (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Google may transfer data to servers in the USA, governed by Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. For details, see policies.google.com/privacy.
6. Newsletter and essays (Substack)
Our written content and newsletter are published via Substack Inc., 548 Market Street, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA.
If you subscribe, your email address and subscription data are collected and processed by Substack on their platform. We do not store subscriber data on this website. Subscription is based on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time via the unsubscribe link (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Substack's servers are located in the USA. For details, see substack.com/privacy.
7. Cookies
This website uses cookies — small data files stored on your device. Some are session cookies, deleted when you end your visit; others remain until you delete them. Cookies may be first-party (set by us) or third-party (set by external services).
Many cookies are technically necessary for the website to function and are stored on the basis of our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where consent for non-essential cookies is requested, processing is based solely on that consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and paragraph 25(1) TDDDG), which can be withdrawn at any time. You can configure your browser to manage or disable cookies; disabling them may limit website functionality.
8. Contact by email
If you contact us by email, your message and any personal data it contains (name, enquiry) is stored and processed to handle your request. We do not pass this data on without your consent. Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where related to a service relationship, otherwise on our legitimate interest in handling enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). This data remains with us until you request deletion or the purpose for storage no longer applies, subject to mandatory legal retention periods.
9. General information and your rights
We take the protection of your personal data seriously and treat it confidentially in accordance with statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy. Please note that data transmission over the internet (e.g. by email) may have security gaps; complete protection against third-party access is not possible.
Your rights under the GDPR:
You have the right to information about your stored data, its origin and recipients, and the purpose of processing; the right to correction or deletion; the right to restrict or object to processing; the right to data portability; the right to withdraw consent at any time; and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Storage duration:
Unless a more specific period is stated, your personal data remains with us until the purpose for processing no longer applies. Mandatory legal retention periods (e.g. tax and commercial law) remain unaffected.
Recipients of personal data:
We work with external service providers (listed above) and only share personal data where necessary for service performance, where legally required, or where a valid data processing agreement is in place.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. The current version is always available on this page.
11. Scope of Service and Professional Disclaimer
The services offered on this website consist of psychological consultation, focusing on identity, direction, and personal growth. These services are intended for people who are not currently experiencing acute clinical mental health conditions. For the avoidance of doubt, these services do not constitute clinical psychology, psychotherapy, or medical mental health care, and are not a substitute for licensed medical or psychiatric treatment. The website operator is not a licensed clinical psychologist or psychotherapist under German law (Psychotherapeut) or any other jurisdiction, and does not diagnose or treat clinical mental health conditions. If you are experiencing a clinical mental health crisis or require psychotherapy, you are advised to seek care from a licensed clinical professional or medical doctor.
